| Total value of dwelling finance commitments excluding alterations and additions decreased by 1.2%.Total value of dwelling finance commitments excluding alterations and additions decreased 0.1%. Owner occupied housing commitments fell 0.9%, while investment housing commitments rose 1.8%.The number of first home buyer commitments as a percentage of total owner occupied housing finance commitments decreased from 17.7% in October 2006 to 17.4% in November 2006. |

| The Import Price Index decreased mainly due to falls in the prices of both petroleum and related products, and machinery and transport equipment.The Import Price Index showed 0.0% movement through the year to December quarter 2006. The increase this quarter was driven by price rises for exports of metalliferous ores and metal scrap, nickel and zinc products, and cereal grains. |

| An improved two-dimensional reconciliation methodology has been used in the seasonal adjustment process,& is being implemented from this Nov.2006 issue. The trend estimate & seasonally adjusted estimate of turnover for the Australian Retail and Hospitality/Services series increased by 0.4% & 0.2% in Nov.2006 respectively.In original terms, Australian turnover increased by 3.4% in November 2006.Australian turnover increased by 7.2% in November 2006. |
